The Aquarian Age is based on the trading card game of the same name.
During the chaotic period known in Western astrology as the Aquarian Age, the alien ERASER fleet attacks Earth, ravaging cities. However, a counteroffensive is launched. The four factions--ARAYASHIKI, WIZ-DOM, DARKLORE, and E.G.O.--who have been fighting each other for control of Earth, join forces to defeat the ERASERS.
In the aftermath, Earth is placed under the unified rule of the POLESTAR EMPIRE. However, peace is shattered when the EMPIRE begins to use forbidden magic. These dark powers cause dimensional rifts around the world and once again plunge Earth into chaos and warfare.

Continuing right where the last OAV series left off, the mysterious Lady Tokimi dispatches the warrior Z to Earth in order to learn more about Tenchi and his connection to Washu and Tsunami. Z is ordered not to lay a hand on Tenchi, but he may have is own agenda as he quickly sets about making trouble for our hero. Meanwhile, Tenchi’s father and grandfather come to the decision that it may be time for Tenchi to learn even more about his past and his Jurian heritage. And the arrival of a couple of new female residents to the Masaki household threatens to upset the balance and inflame the rivalry over Tenchi’s already decidedly divided affection.

Based on a PC game released by Tactic in 1998. The game was very popular and it was dominating that particular (romance-drama-eechi) game genre in Japan that year. It was so popular that there were several Drama CDs released, and finally the OVA about two years later.
The main character of the story is Orihara Kouhei, a mysterious boy with a tragic past and tormented by memory loss in his childhood. He had disappeared for a long time, then returns to fullfil the promises he made to several girls in his past which he have forgotten.
